How we're organized
Democrats are organized in every corner of Franklin County:
Town committees are small civic organizations of 3+ town voters. They take part in social and civic life, nominate Justices of the Peace, and conduct Party elections ("Reorganization") every other year. Members of each town committee serve as town representatives on the County Committee.
County committees are county-wide workgroups tasked with Party administration. They have subcommittees tasked with specific work, like budgets or communication or organizing. Members of the County Committee serve as county representatives on the Vermont Democratic Party State Committee.
Community Caucuses are affinity groups formed to advocate and organize around a region, issue, or identity group.
Party Bylaws
Bylaws are rules that govern how the Party is run. They describe the roles, responsibilities, and procedures necessary to conduct Party business fairly and effectively. Defer to the Vermont Democratic Party bylaws in the event our county-level bylaws don't address a particular issue or procedure.
